Welcome to the Springfield City Clerk’s website! We are constantly updating the website to include all of the important information you’ve come to expect from us. The City Council Agendas, Audio Minutes as well as access to ordinances in full detail being considered by the City Council are right at your fingertips. Simply click on the Government tab above and a menu will guide you through Agendas, Minutes, Ordinances, Audio and Videos of the meetings held to date.

During the live broadcast of City Council and Committee meetings on Municipal Channel 18, you can now follow along from your home with Springfield City Council. By clicking on Follow Along Live from the Government menu, you have access to the Council’s voting system which allows you to see what your alderman is viewing as well as to see the votes cast as they happen. Click on How They Voted from the Government menu to access information on how your alderman voted in prior meetings on issues important to you and the City of Springfield.

If you’re looking for information on how to file a request for information, select the FOIA tab above to view instructions, the current Freedom of Information directory, and requests and responses filed with the City to date.

The City Clerk also serves as the Local Registrar for vital records. You can obtain records from 1985 to the present. If you’re in need of a death certificate for a death that occurred in Springfield, we can assist you as well. Select the Services tab above for fee information and applications.
